Starting with their short-nosed Argo road racing saddles, Fizik has tweaked the padding to give XC, gravel, and cyclocross racers the same shape, but for bumpy terrain.

The new Fizik Argo X has rounded corners all around for smooth, comfortable leg motion while pedaling, further enhanced by “WingFlex” sections on the center edges to help the shell move with you. The low profile and rounded edge shaping also makes it easy to adjust position and get off the back of the saddle (and back on it) during descents.

The tail kicks up slightly to put your hips in a more powerful pedaling position and give you a little something to push against on the climbs.

It keeps the ergonomic cutout in the center to relieve pressure, but adds a “mud flap” rubber cover on the bottom to prevent mud from splattering your crotch through the saddle…which is the main difference between this and the non-carbon-railed road versions. So, if you ride in wet weather, get this one for your road bike, too.
